::National Resource Center on Native American Aging (NRCNAA)::

The National Society for American Indian Elderly (NSAIE) and the National Resource Center on Native American Aging (NRCNAA) has formed a cooperative effort to offer expanded needs assessments for our member tribes.

The NRCNAA questionnaire has been supplemented to include additional information that is intended to further understand the needs of American Indian elderly.  The NRCNAA will provide training in data collection and data use for this project.

NCRNAA will develop data sets on each tribe or group of tribes and an aggregate file for all tribes.  The same process that currently applies to the NCRNAA project, will apply to this one.  Tribes are invited to participate, but not required to do so for program participation.  An agreement with the appropriate authority will determine the use of the data and all data will be forwarded to the Tribe where the needs assessment took place.

We believe that gaining a better picture of the needs of elders in their respective service areas will help us better serve their needs.  The information is expected to benefit the Tribes that participate by substantiating the needs they wish to better address for their elders.

We look forward to the partnership with NRCNAA, and think it is another way to help address the needs of American Indian Elders.
